MooGoo, the Australian skincare brand known for its gentle and natural products, has garnered attention from those seeking solutions for sensitive skin. But what about vegans? Let’s dive into the question of whether MooGoo is vegan-friendly by examining its ingredients and cruelty-free status.
MooGoo? Surely that’s fully of dairy?
Sure, they’re called MooGoo but that’s not strictly due to the use of dairy in their products. The owner was inspired to create the brand when he noticed that his mother was using a white paste, intended for use on cows, to help with her Psoriasis.
However, MooGoo do use milk protein in many of their products. They also incorporate fresh milk, honey and beeswax in some formulations. Whilst there may be the odd option for vegans, generally this brand is a no-go.
Cruelty-Free Claims…
MooGoo claims to be cruelty-free, meaning they don’t test their products on animals. However, their cruelty-free status lacks official certifications or recognition from leading cruelty-free blogs. For those seeking more concrete assurance, additional research may be necessary.
So is it vegan?
Due to the presence of milk-based ingredients in numerous MooGoo products, it’s safe to say the brand may not meet the strict criteria for vegan shoppers. While MooGoo emphasises sustainability and cruelty-free practices, their reliance on milk and other non-vegan components don’t align with a vegan lifestyle.
